I first tried Baumgardner pickles when I saw them on sale at my local Whole Foods in the Pearl District of Portland. I've been hooked ever since! I just ate the last one out of the most recent jar (and drank the juice too, I'm weird like that!) and saw the email address as I put the jar in recycling and thought I'd fire off a quick email praising your pickling prowess! Thanks for making a delicious, local product.

Sincerely,

These Pickles are the Greatest!
written by Dion on August 12, 2006

Hi Tom and Judy,
Thank you for the hot and spicy pickles. They were fantastic, especially if you love
"HOT" food like I do. I recommend
it to anyone that wants a little spice in their life.

The Best Dill Pickles Ever!!
written by Brandy Waugh on September 17, 2007

These were the best dill pickles I have ever had! A jar of pickles normally lasts
about 3 weeks in my house,
these ones were gone in less than 1 week!!!
You need to get in some stores out here in OHIO!!

I tried these pickles for the first time today and thought they have a great flavor.
Could be a little spicier for my taste, but that is just personal preference.
I love the flavor, these pickles are not too tart or sour. Will be buying more
and more in the future and will pass the word around about them.

Any plans for sweets?
written by Maggie P. on June 22, 2008

Dear Tom and Judy,
Your dill pickles are amazing! Do you have any plans to make sweet pickles?
The other day, I was looking for some without artificial flavors or colors,
and I couldn't find any! So much for homemade tartar sauce....
I'll have to content myself with another jar of dills.
 Keep up the good work!

Articles about Baumgardner Pickling Company

The editorial indicated that the only pickles in the Northwest or real dill pickles in the Northwest were only from Nalley's, Steinfeld's or Farman's and as the article pointed out they are no longer Northwest Companies. However, I am the owner of a dill pickle company that is local. Our grower is local, our co-packer is local and we have no intention of selling out to a large Corporation and having our product grown overseas or elsewhere. We are dedicated to staying in Oregon as an Oregon Product. We are members of the Oregon Specialty Foods Association and the Oregon Agriculture Association. We have been in business four years and our pickles are crunchy and taste like the old fashion pickles that grandmothers used to make. In fact my recipe is from my Great Grandmother. I am the Lamb's Stores, Roth's Stores, Tillamook Creamery to name a few in Oregon, also, stores in Southern California and in Idaho. We will soon be in stores in Washington. We are slowly growing and plan to continue to grow into a national company representing an All Natural Oregon Product.

Sincerely;

Judith Jamison

EMAIL FROM FRIENDS

Hello Judie,

I came into work this AM to find a box sitting in my office. I had no idea what was in it.

I had totally forgotten our conversation in New York. But, immediately when I saw the pickles I remembered.

Thank you so much for sending these. I proceeded to open these and I had people in our office try these. They all totally loved them,

Especially the hot spicy ones. They all have asked where they can purchase these. I have a good friend that works for whole foods here in R.I.

I would love to be able to make a presentation to him on your behalf, and then you can take it from there. I also have a couple of other vendors

That I would like to have try. But, I will need at least 4 to 6 more jars of each.

Thanks Again.

Respectfully Yours

Anthony

I love your pickles and can't go without them! I first tried them from market of choice in Eugene. I have just moved to Vancouver WA and need to know if I can purchase them somewhere here. If not, I'll come to you. They remind me of my grandmother's full of love and memories.

Dear Mr. Baumgardner,
I've just purchased my 2nd jar of you "hot and spicy" dills. And, I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy them and also re-tell you my story I mentioned to you at the state fair last Saturday while taking my 2 grandchildren there. I told you my wife has always liked Steinfields pickles. And, when I drive our car to Scottsdale Az. In the fall she always has me take a couple jars of Streinfields with me.
You mentioned to me if she knew they now come from India. I was shocked as I knew 2nd generation Rick Steinfield who was in my athletic club years ago. And I knew about their fire and rebuilding and eventual sale as well but not all the details.
I went to Fred Meyers upon returning from the fair to check on your remarks about India. Yes,
In the smallest print available, there it was. You can imagine my wife's displeasure learning of this.
Later, I went to Lambs Stroheckers and bought your product. I paid $6.49 for the jar. The Steinfield sitting nearly next to yours in the same size were some $2.00 less. I suppose most shoppers would choose the lesser priced. Not my wife and I however. We are now a continuing Baumgardner customers from here on.

We are senior citizens and constantly saddened by these type developments in our country.

Hang in there, Mr. Baumgardner, and good luck to you.

Dear Tom and Judie,

I sadly held in my hand the last jar of your wonderful pickles at Mother's Market in Huntington Beach. There are none left, especially the "not" spicy hot ones. There are long lines of angry protesters beginning to form. We need your help in averting a real crisis. SEND MORE PICKLES! (Especially the non spicy ones.) I will be glad to deliver any case you send me to them (minus one).

Your Friends,

Drs. LUD & NEYLAN MARRONE, 17002 COAST HWY. #201, HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 92649, (562) 592-4125

PS: I may have met Tom at the sampling table last year. God Bless You and everyone!
